The sunny plateau of Tesimo/Prissiano on the South of the Palade Pass is a natural paradise without equals. Far away from everyday traffic, the landscape offers idyllic locations and spectacular views.

This fabulous tourist region lies at about 650 m above sea level and includes some picturesque villages: Tesimo, Prissiano, Narano, Caprile, Plazoles e Schernag. Surrounded by orchards, vineyards and chestnut trees you can relax amidst untouched nature and absolute quietness. South Tyrol’s most famous towns, Bolzano and Merano, are only 20 minutes by car away.

The mountain peaks are still covered with snow while spring on the plateau is blossoming in its full glamour. Summer is characterised by sunny days and mild refreshing nights. Many swimming pools, ponds and ice cream parlours grant the necessary refreshment during the hottest days! And when autumns comes, the landscape appears in its most splendid version, full of colours and magic charm.

In every season there are plenty of offers for the leisure time: hiking, walking, biking, tennis, golf, sledge or horse riding. In the warmest months after your hike in the mountains, you can restore body and mind in the Kneip-parcours in Prissiano.

Various events are organised in Prissiano and Tesimo. An example is the typical Törggelen that takes place from the beginning of October to the middle of November: during this festive period traditional local dishes, chestnuts and the new wine are served in typical inns in a joyful atmosphere. One of these inns is just some minutes walk from our guesthouse. Other inns can be reached with our shuttle service.

South Tyrol is famous for its top-class wines. What about taking part to one of the wine tastings organised regularly?

South Tyrol is homeland of top-class apples. Every 10 apples grown in Europe, one is grown in South Tyrol! Here you find the most different sorts. The fruit-harvesting season goes from July to November.

On November 11th, we celebrate our Patron: Come and celebrate with us! In this season nature is absolutely splendid and the sea of colours all around will enchant you.

Fortresses, castles and churches

In earlier centuries the plateau of TEsimo/Prissiano was the favourite destination of many noble families, who decided to build their magnificent properties here. Therefore, there are plenty of fortified castles and palaces to be visited: Castles Wehrburg of the 13th century, Castel Katzenzungen which can be reached in 15 minutes walk from our guesthouse. The castle can be visited during numerous guided tours. In Prissian you find one oft he most splendid Renaissance Castles in South Tyrol: the Fahlburg.

Along the surrounding walking tracks you can reach various churches and chapels.
